happy 1st birthday

i was invited to a friend's housewarming party / his daughter's 1st birthday party a few weeks ago. it was also my first time celebrating korean style.

they had yummy korean kalbi bbq, japchae, and korean rice cake. when it was time for the birthday cake, little na-yeh changed into a super cute korean dress (i think it's called hanbok).

also saw johann - last time i saw him, he was only a few months old, but now he's singing and running around!

wedding at hogwarts?

my high school friend and her college sweetheart just threw a really sweet and fun wedding at hogwarts... i mean at gilroy's eagle ridge golf club. but it truly was the most relaxing and laid back wedding i've ever been to. the weather was perfect too!

long time no see

it's been over a year since i've seen C & T.
they were in town a couple weeks ago and we finally met up to have their favorite chinese dim sum brunch. we tried a new place and luckily, it was good! i'm glad they enjoyed the food as much as i did (they said there're none in san diego...). thanks for sharing a nice afternoon with me and all the catching up! i promise i will visit SD soon!

a few days after that, i got to have dinner with my little friend Addison! she was so sweet and asked me to sit next to her as soon as i arrived! (sorry daddy J you had to move) compared to the last time i saw her in january, she's very social and conversing in full sentences now. she's so goofy too!

during dinner, Addi wanted to show off her photography talent and snapped some pictures. she captured daddy J and auntie M being silly, her little feet, my arm, and a conversation between big bird and cookie monster. :)

next generation

baby tyler is the almost 7-month-old son of my college friends ellie and herman. they made a trip from southern cal to the bay area a few weeks ago, and we got to hang out with them at theresa and gregg's new home. tyler is the first of our next generation and there's no doubt he got all our attention.

it's just hard for the camera to get his attention!

my friend D recently added two more members to their family.
they are two ★super★ cute maltese baby boys, manto (饅頭) and mickey.
together with 4-year-old mochi, they now have 3 white fur balls. :)

i heard that the little ones are growing a lot day by day.
maybe i won't recognize them when i see them next time.

and i wonder if mochi got used to having 2 little brothers already? ;)

T's wedding ceremony was followed by an amazing celebration at the ko'olau golf course. the couple made a great choice on this venue for their reception. guests enjoyed an astounding view of the tropical rain forest while feasting on the delectable food and desserts.

last weekend, i attended my good friend T's wedding at her husband's hometown, oahu hawaii. they couldn't have picked a better timing for the wedding. it was the perfect weather and not quite the peak season for tourists yet.

T asked myself and another friend to serve as their wedding coordinators, but really, she did all the preparations for us before leaving for the island! all we had to do were to follow her schedule and instructions, and we're glad we could give her a hand. after all, the responsibility for the bride and groom was to read their vows and enjoy their day!

shower of blessings

my good friend and college roommate, T, is getting married at the end of this month. last week, i attended her lovely wedding shower that one of her church friends hosted for her.

it was a casual but cute shower, with a ton of good food and desserts~ T even got a home-made ice cream cake.

after lunch, the bridesmaids led the group through two games. we had a lot of fun watching the bride-to-be spell words with her (eh-hem) butt for getting the wrong answers!

during gift opening time, T received so many pieces of lingerie that we lost count. i think she was also surprised that so many came from her friends.

there is now less than a month till the wedding in hawaii. i'm sure we'll all have fun again the next time we meet!

little miss sunshine

addison was 1 month shy of her first birthday, still very much a baby.

ever since her birth, i've been devotedly following the blog where her mommy writes about their adventures. i always joke with her daddy and mommy that it's no secret that i'm her "stalker"... :)

10 months later, we finally meet for dim sum again and took a picture in the same pose. see how much addi has grown!? she's standing on my lap in both pictures and now at 20 months old (it's her 20th month birthday today!), she has definitely grown a few inches taller!
