weekend @kobe

last week was お盆 (o-bon) festival, where the japanese usually return to their hometown and pay their respect to the spirits of the dead. well, the younger generation uses it as a chance to enjoy a long weekend.

during this long weekend holiday, we went to see a movie at kobe. the cinema is a fairly new one - very nicely decorated and clean. seats are quite roomy and comfortable. kids even get booster cushions if they're too short to see the screen. however, the price you pay for a ticket is also quite "nice"... an adult ticket costs ¥1,800...

after the movie, we went to the kobe mosaic, an outdoor shopping and dining venue next to the kobe port. there are a lot of cute little stores and it's a great place to hang out. a lot of people bring their pups for a stroll as well.

the ferris wheel is one of the main attractions

you can get a wonderful view of the port tower and the marine museum
