pillow restoration (part 1)

i have this little pillow which i've been using since i was a baby. my grandma had sewn it for me. i don't use it to lay my head on. instead, i hold it in my arms every night when i go to sleep. the pillow has become my must-have item, my sleep aid, or my version of the "security blanket", whatever you want to name it. i have trouble falling asleep if it's not with me... seriously. i would say this pillow would be one of the things i'd bring with me if i was left on a deserted island.

well, it has been years that i've used it. every time i switch out the pillow case, i'm sad to see the torn corners and fringes. i've been holding it together with safety pins... poor thing!

i thought of replacing it with a new one, but i know it just won't be the same. it's just not going to have the same "feel". so instead of replace, i decide to restore. i turn to my super cook aunt, who is also a super seamstress! (remember? she used to teach home economics)

in just 5 minutes, she carefully ripped the fringes apart and sewed them back together. voila, my precious pillow looking new and gorgeous!

this is only the first part of my pillow restoration project. next is to get it new pillow cases. :)
