i was a little shocked to hear that we're having 7 courses of beef for dinner at first... boy, that's a lot of meat. but when the dishes came, it wasn't so bad!
first off was the salad that's light and refreshing; only small bits of cooked beef mixed with shredded green papaya. for the second course, we each got about 2 pieces from the beef shabu that you cook at the table, which was a perfect amount. then came the "4-in-1-plate" grilled/steamed assorted beef. everything was well complimented by rice paper, mixed veggies and fish sauces. the meal ended nicely with a small bowl of beef rice soup, sorta like chinese porridge. (i didn't care for the over-powering ginger bits in the rice soup, though...)
each 7 course meal is $17.95 (in the milpitas location; not sure about its other norcal and socal locations) and there's a minimum of 2 orders if each table decides to order it. the 3 of us got 2 orders, which filled us up just right.
the restaurant also serves other authentic vietnamese dishes but it seems like 90% of the diners ordered the 7 course meal, so everything's served quick and fresh.
