last year, when kobeya opened in san mateo, i was excited to have good japanese-style curry nearby. but ever since i stopped working in san mateo, the convenience was taken away. the only chance i could enjoy was to make it myself... which i did a few weeks ago:
but finally, CURRY HOUSE landed in the south bay!!
curry house, a japanese-style curry and spaghetti eatery owned by house foods corporation (they're the makers of vermont and java curry too) and have been in SoCal for over 20 years, opened in cupertino last saturday. and without any delay, i went to try it out tonight.
we ordered katsu curry, menchi katsu curry (beef hamburger), and a curry rice set. the portions were big and the price was reasonable (about $9.95 - $14 for dinner; -$2 per dish for lunch). and taste? delicious!! curry was perfectly made, and cutlets were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside~
we didn't order the spaghetti dishes, but they looked pretty attractive from what we saw at the table across from us. will try those another time.
if you're a japanese-style curry lover, or you're one of those who misses curry house in SoCal, or you have never tried, you should definitely come to cupertino and try it out! (i bet they will start opening up in other bay area regions...)
