mini date, big fun

i knew matthew since he was nine months old; now he is 7.

and today, i had a little date with him.

i was afraid that matthew wouldn't like my suggestion to go pottery painting at all fired up, but when i told him, he was really excited about it! originally, he was going to paint his favorite pokemon, and actually brought his pokemon book along. but when he spotted a dragon sculpture at the shop, he changed his mind. he said he wanted to paint a "fierce, mean dragon". boys!

matthew is so focused and he is so good with colors and details. he is also very patient. we painted for 2 hours! any other kid at his age would have probably wandered away and asked to do something else. after pottery painting, we also had a little reading time at the library.

although our little date was short, i had so much fun! i'm glad matthew said he had a good time too!
